A new world first is due to launch in Australia offering pet owners the opportunity to protect dogs for a full 12 months with one single injection.
Tick paralysis still represents to our local south east Queensland pet owners one of the most common serious preventable illness in dogs.
Despite the availability of effective products there is evidence that as many as 75% of pets receive the current monthly or quarterly preventatives late or miss a cycle.
These are well loved family members and the reasons are varied but mostly simply forgetting due our busy lives.
The good news is that in 2024 this world first will be launched in Australia. There is also a similar annual injection against heartworm.
The annual injection will not be available for cats however cats can celebrate with a new water based spot on that provides a full 3 months protection against ticks, fleas, and intestinal worms including tapeworms. Many “indoor” cats can pick up paralysis ticks with short periods outside.
